Installation Wars - The Home Stretch

The artists of Installation Wars are finishing up their pieces and seeing the prevotes coming in.  To vote for your favorite artist and to support the Prairie Art Alliance, please make a donation here: http://prairieart.org/InstallationWars.asp

They are all emotionally, and some physically, exhausted as they prepare to psychologically walk away from their creations and present the final pieces at the Unveiling at Gallery II, 2 South Old State Capitol Plaza, Downtown Springfield, on First Friday, February 1st from 5-8pm.

Adam has added his signature and a fourth eye and now he's calling it a day.

Dennis encourages patrons to take clutter and add it to the piece.  One patron even added her own old keys that had been weighing down her purse.

Linda Post Lucas changes the background of her piece and expands the concept from "art as commerce" to the age old question, "What is Art?"

Felicia wants her finished piece to be a secret.  She explains, "Like moths attracted to the light, this piece is symbolic of letting go of our lives on earth to join in the light of love.  The chair represents our seats on earth becoming too hard and uncomfortable for us to bear and the reflectionless mirror tells us its okay to let go of ourselves."

Jennifer has nearly completed her piece but still has extras to add and a lot to clean up. She looks forward to it lighting the back space at the opening.

Jed finished his piece last week so has a week to rest before the opening.  He has decided to title his piece "Salvation."
