An Artist Reception and Talk is planned for Wednesday, August 7 at 6pm at Maldaner's Downtown.

Why is Modern Art Significant?
The many political and social changes from 1870s to mid-1940s in Europe significantly impacted art. These art trends continue to influence art making even today. This lecture will not only show what major art"isms" were created but also why they were created. We will put this period of time into perspective as well as reflect on present art trends.
