Jennifer has been hard at work in a step by step process. Some other PAA members have pitched it to help her too... so she doesn't COMPLETELY feel like a one woman assembly line. First she de-lables the bottles, then she cleans then, then she cuts and punches them, then she paints them, and then she hangs them... over and over again until her toxic forest becomes lush. She is looking forward to the opening, hoping that all her work will pay off when the viewer enjoys the experience of walking through the forest. She hopes that at first the viewer will feel safe and starry eyed, but then as they get deeper into the brush, feel a rush of uneasieness or wonder about where they have found themselves. Time will tell. Vote for Jennifer here: http://prairieart.org/Jennifer.asp

Felicia Keeps It Ethereal
Felicia Olin installed her tissue paper white ceiling portion as well as the butterflies. Then this Saturday she unveiled a white chair complete with white branches and antlers. Her piece is beautifully ethereal and peaceful while at the same time softly toned with the natural pain of human life. Looking at the piece at this stage instantly puts the viewer into a state of tranquility. Support this PAA fundraiser and vote for Felicia here: http://prairieart.org/InstallationWars.asp
Dennis Grows His Rubber Band Piece
Dennis Morris has taken more rubber bands out of the box, more keys, and more plastic to grow his piece farther up the window. What will the finished piece say? We're excited to see it grow. Support the Prairie Art Alliance and vote for Dennis here: http://prairieart.org/InstallationWars.asp
Jed Works Out the Kinks
Jed Leber has added a fan, a stronger fluorescent light, and streams of plastic to the back of his painting of a man (who?) and cinched the plastic shut. He has spent most of this past Saturday afternoon staring at his possibly-almost-finished-piece wondering.... "What next?" We are excited to see what he comes up with next as he works out the problems in his head this week. Support the Prairie Art Alliance and vote for Jed here: http://prairieart.org/InstallationWars.asp
Linda is Close to Finishing "Art by the Foot"
Linda Post Lucas came in and worked a lot this week! She has added casts of her own feet as well as a long, rolled painting that is for sale by the foot ($50 per foot). Along with her commentary on art as a commodity, she also has arranged prints of the piece for sale and quotes that answer the question "What is art?" The backdrop and tapestry give the piece a theatrical feel, possibly alluding to the view that not only is art a commodity, but maybe entertainment as well? Installation Wars is a PAA fundraiser.
